For those of you who took our advice last year around the holidays and bought a new home, congrats – it’s probably almost halfway complete! LOL, we kid, we kid, just a little poorly-timed construction-timing humor; no but seriously, we are confident it’s at least being drywalled now.
For those of you who didn’t take our advice, or built but didn’t use us and made poor decisions as a result, don’t navigate another year of uncertain living during these unprecedented/complicated/unprecedently complicated times. Development in Downtown Northville looks to continue spreading eastward, with plans for a mixed-use building on a long-vacant parcel where Main Street makes the turn into downtown. Plans call for a 3-story building with a Westborn-style high-end grocer on the first floor and residential units everywhere else. The project received preliminary site plan review and special land use approval from the city’s planning commission recently, but those familiar with the parcel will agree that a good deal of environmental remediation will be needed at the site (which is adjacent to the Walled Lake Branch of the Middle Rouge River), before any vertical construction can begin… [read more]
Westland is the Bestland so we’re excited that Lombardo has picked up two elementary schools (not literally because those things are super heavy – ask Lou), with plans for roughly 80 homes between both developments. Plans call for single family homes, likely similar to those recently built by Lombardo at nearby Marlee Woods.
