Another election has now passed (we think), and once again, green energy took a back seat in the debate. Shame. While everyone was focused on emails, walls, and inappropriate grabbing, many of us missed Elon Musk’s segue into housing – solar roof technology. Not the ugly, bulky solar panels on top of an asphalt and tar roof that serve no other purpose, but energy-absorbing solar shingles that are 100% clean, aesthetically pleasing, and functional.
Storing energy from the sun during the day to power a lithium-ion battery wall, Telsa’s new solar roof technology now provides an end to end clean and renewable power source for homes. That’s right, 100% clean, renewable, and self-sustaining energy. Bonus: Musk is manufacturing the battery in the U.S., building a 6 million square foot facility in Reno, NV.
