The former site of the Mayfield Training Center, on the north side of Thomas Street (east of Wamer), appears to be on the way to becoming townhomes; last week, the city decided to move forward with the Robertson proposal, edging out proposals from 3 other developers. The development will feature 59 townhomes on a parcel situated between downtown and Shiawassee Park, along the banks of the (no longer flammable!) Upper Rouge River. We were happy to see Robertson seal the deal on this one – of the proposals offered, Robertson’s made the most sense for the location. Going forward, we have just 2 questions: where these will be priced, and is the proposed tram that will run from the development down the hill to Shiawassee Park for real??
