Listen, there is still plenty of summer left, ok? Sure, it’s July and we’ve passed some official (Memorial Day, Independence Day), and unofficial (Jobbie Nooner) annual summer celebrations, but we still have SO much more to go.
That is… unless you were planning to move into a new school district prior to the start of the upcoming school year; those timelines are getting a little tight.
Particularly if you haven’t found anything yet, and especially if your preference is new home construction; spec homes that are completed or nearing completion have become as rare as a combined no-hitter in baseball (those who know, know).
Which is where we come in – if it’s out there, we know about it. Or we’ve heard things and can get the details, so you don’t have to.
On average it takes about 30 days to close a loan, so that only gives us a couple of weeks to find the home that works for you and your family + get you into that home before the school bell rings.

METRO DETROIT RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION SLOWS
In what was a surprise to no one in our office, Crain’s reported last week that residential construction was down in Michigan, despite being at an 11-month high across the rest of the country. So far in 2023, permits were off by more than 20% year-to-date through May, while housing starts and builder confidence across the rest of the county seems to be soaring.
Sure, price increases in materials and labor (which inevitably leads to higher home prices) haven’t helped, but resale prices are up and in hot areas, bidding wars are very much still a thing. THE BANK TOWER | SOUTHGATE
