BALTIMORE STATION

May 18, 2018

With the first phase of Baltimore Station nearing completion, renderings of the second phase have now been released, and the entire project is expected to be done by summer 2019.

Last month construction began on the $29M second phase (currently a vacant lot), for a new mixed use building that will include 9,000 sqft of retail space and 138 apartments.  Located across E. Baltimore from the first phase (behind the White Castle, and stretching to John R), the rendering (above) showcases a uniquely designed 5-story building that will feature private and co-living spaces, a big communal area, a yoga studio, a rooftop deck, a community garden, and valet parking.

The $7.6M first phase, located on the Northeast corner of Woodward Ave. & E. Baltimore Ave. (pictured below), involved renovating the nearly 100 year old existing building, and transforming it into 10,000 sqft of retail space, with 23 loft apartments above it.  Woodpile BBQ Shack has signed on as one of the retail tenants, and leasing has begun for the apartments, which range in size from 570 sqft to 1,185 sqft, and will rent in the $1,315/month to $2,552/month range.  Occupancy is expected to begin later this summer.

Developer The Platform LLC received notoriety for the project – one of several underway in the New Center area – because it began as a class project by three University of Michigan grad students.  Read more about Baltimore Station and the history behind it, here.
