A preliminary site plan appears to be in place for Balmoral Park in West Bloomfield Township.  Located on the east side of Haggerty Road (south of Walnut Lake Road), the 96 acre site would feature 209 single family homes, with access to the neighborhood from both Haggerty & Walnut Lake Road.  At this point in the approval process, it appears the developer is trying for 50′ – 55′ lots; they are currently zoned for 45′ lots.

The developer for the project is “Balmoral Park LLC, c/o Gary Shapiro” – Shaprio was one of the owners of former local builder Ivanhoe Huntley, and currently owns The Ivanhoe Companies.  Ivanhoe typically develops land and then sells it to builders, so at this point we don’t know who will actually build the homes.  The easy guesses would be Pulte or M/I Homes, but we wouldn’t rule out Lombardo or one of several national builders currently eyeing the Metro Detroit market.
