A couple of high-rise buildings will add to the Detroit skyline, from a location that hasn’t seen a new high rise built in decades; Midtown. The Mid, located on vacant land near Woodward Ave. and Mack Ave., will feature a 25-story hotel and condominium building, which would be connected to a 30-story multifamily tower that would feature first floor retail, and contain roughly 250 apartments, 20% of which would be deemed affordable.
The 3.78 acre parcel was initially slated to be a medical office building, but 3750 Woodward Ave LLC purchased the land in September and scrapped the original plan. Total investment in the project is expected to be north of $310M and the first phase, the 25-story tower, could be completed as soon as late 2020.
