January came to an end with the annual NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas. As usual, thousands of builders and suppliers showcased/viewed many of the new concepts and toys for the upcoming year. The Wall Street Journal highlights some of the more impressive home additions, including:
- Hot water dispensers next to the ice and cold water options in your fridge door.
- Smokeless fireplaces which burn denatured alcohol (bioethanol)
- Tiny backup generators which can be placed as close as 18” to the home
- Wall outlets with USB ports
- Sauna’s incorporated into master bathrooms
- In-home elevators
- Combination gas/electric BBQ’s with rotisserie & smoker
