When Dan Gilbert & Bedrock announced the acquisition of the 4-story building at 1700 W. Fort Street (and some of the surrounding property) near Corktown back in 2016, all we were told at the time was it would be used for “key mixed-use space,” and we haven’t heard much since. However, a recent Facebook ad campaign caught our attention, introducing the renovated building as The Assembly; 160,000 sqft of office, retail, and residential.
Few details about the residential component of The Assembly have been released yet, other than that the units will be available for rent, not for sale, and will feature the following options: studio, 1 bed, 2 bed, and 2+ bed apartments. We’ll keep an ear to the ground (or the wall, or to a slightly ajar door – basically, wherever someone might be talking about it within eavesdropping distance), for more info. In the meantime, checkout their page on the Bedrock website here.
