Newsletter: June 2020

It’s been about a month since the “new normal” started and yeah, it’s a little different, but for many of us it’s still business as usual.

For starters, everyone is complaining about how big and crazy their hair is, but Realtors are like BIG AND CRAZY HAIR THIS IS MY JAM EVERYONE LOOKS AMAAAAZING!

And sure, it’s a little different seeing people wearing masks, but there was nothing shocking about seeing a framer on site last week wearing a mask with a Lovers Lane logo on it and also it wasn’t a mask. Those guys will never let a pandemic stop them from being those guys.

Finally, we can officially celebrate the death of the handshake, which was long overdue. Unfortunately, no one has figured out a replacement so Lou & Jeff are trialing different ideas and it appears this week they’ll be curtsying so that should go well.

Anyway, on to real estateing…

What are we doing here? Lou asks this timeless existential question and then also answers it because we believe in one-stop shopping. Additionally, he says “ya’ll” several times and we apologize for that. Learn how we help make the homebuilding process smoother and funner and now you’ve learned about our limited grammar skills as well.

Lot #52 | Stonegate South

Drywall is up, and they are currently mudding, taping, and performing all sorts of other post-drywall-hanging activities! This gorgeous Wellington II floor plan will feature a walkout basement AND a sunroom, the latter of which will offer spectacular views of Rochester Hills. Bonus: you aren’t actually in Rochester Hills, so your taxes are considerably lower than the houses you’re looking at! At left (or above, depending on how you’re viewing this) is a pic of Jeff posing in front of the aforementioned view; smile, Jeffy…

If you’re interested in this 4 bed/2.5 bath/2,760+ sqft colonial by Strathdale Development (near the commute-friendly intersection of Dutton & Squirrel), connect with us for the details; there is still time to do some of your interior selections!

31701 Hull Avenue | Farmington Hills

We are super excited to announce a new listing from Mark Adler Homes! This gorgeous modern farmhouse is located in a peaceful, wooded setting, while still commute-friendly and close to amenities. We don’t want to geek-out or anything, but Mark really digs deep when it comes to the details; he uses floor trusses over I-joists, energy-efficient cellulose insulation over fiberglass, custom grade-subfloors that can hold water longer than the Lions Super Bowl-drought and… we know, we know, people don’t care they just want to know if it has granite and stainless but come on guys this stuff is important too!!

As for the details, it features 4 bed/2.5 bath/nearly 2,600 sqft, a 2-car attached garage, a cedar deck + landscaping package, and it will look like the rendering featured at the top of this newsletter. And of course, it will include plenty of high-end finishes such as [sigh]… granite… and stainless steel appliances… and all the pretty/shiny things.

Interested? Let’s discuss! Connect with us for the details, and we can walk you through the process for a contact-free purchase and closing.

12866 Dejarol | South Lyon-ish

Our listing for Kensington Family Homes on Dejarol in Green Oak Township is complete and I know you might be thinking “er, wasn’t it basically complete in March” and yeah, it was, but a thing kinda happened – like, to earth – so there was a slight delay in minor items like township approval and what have you. But now it’s completely complete and still never lived in – by humans or viruses to the best of our knowledge – so let’s socially distance you in for a look.

Featuring 4 bed/3.5 bath and nearly 3,000 sqft, this Craftsman-style colonial features a 3-car garage, a daylight basement, and high-end finishes throughout. Enjoy serenity and privacy in a natural setting, on a 1.5-acre cul-de-sac lot with pond-views, and South Lyon Schools. Connect with Lou and Jeff (if you’re already working with us), or reach out to Julie & Jennifer directly for the details.

Actual listing coming soon!

17022 Marguerite | Beverly Hills

We know what you’re thinking – palm trees? mountains? This is the wrong Beverly Hills. First of all, correct. Second, Lou missed the deadline and we didn’t want to cut the space out, so we decided to feature a picture of the Walsh house from 90210 instead.

Rest assured, in the coming days/weeks, we will have a lovely updated Beverly Hills (Michigan) ranch hitting the market and unlike the home pictured above, it will have more brick, way less drama, and zero answering machine messages that say [in extreme Luke Perry voice] “Hey, this is Dylan, you know the drill” because DYLAN DIDN’T EVEN LIVE THERE; he lived on his own, like most teenagers. Anyway, connect with Lou for the details on Marguerite; reach out to Jeff for the details on the Walsh house, the beach house, The Peach Pit, or any other 90210-related real estate.

3207 Baron Drive | Bloomfield Hills

Located near Long Lake & Franklin in Baron Estates, all 3,910 sqft of this custom contemporary fabulousness is pure art. Featuring high-end finishes like Caesarstone quartz & Brizo fixtures, and trim detail like decorative millwork and coffered ceilings, this well-designed floor plan provides plenty of privacy; a master suite on the entry-level, two on-suite bedrooms on the upper level, and an on-suite(ish) bedroom on the 1,300 sqft finished lower level.

Despite the rendering, rest assured this home is nearing completion – however, landscaping still has to go in and who wants to see a piece of art before it’s complete? Would you really want to see Les Demoiselles d’Avignon before the final application of crayon has been perfected? We didn’t think so.<- ->For more info, have your agent reach out to our friend Stephanie Nosan Beer with Nosan Signature Homes directly. Not working with an agent? You should be, let’s chat.

5641 Ciderberry | Brighton-is

Nestled among rolling hills that offer some fairly unique topography for Southeast Michigan, Copperleaf in Genoa Township by Clearview Homes is just steps-away from Appleton Lake (and the aptly-named Appleton Lake Campgrounds) and located within the acclaimed Brighton School District.

This massive Franklin II floor plan is nearing completion and features 5 bed/4.5 bath and nearly 3,500 sqft. Located on a 1+ acre lot, this home includes a 3-car garage, a fully finished basement (with the option for a 6th bedroom), and a number of upgraded finishes.

Trailway Commons, Auburn Hills

With Robertson Brothers seemingly doing well a half-mile down the street, another developer is looking to offer a similar product just outside of the downtown district, in the form of a mixed-use development. Located on a 5.5-acre parcel on the west side of Adams (north of Auburn), Tollbrook Auburn LLC is proposing a $12M project that will include 29 townhome-style condo units, as well as a restaurant and commercial/medical office space. If approved, construction could start later this year… [read more]

Art Van Building, Port Huron

Ok, sure, why not – ‘sup Port Huron; or as Jeff calls you, Sarnia West. The developer of several other loft projects in the area is eyeing the former Art Van Building downtown, to which we said… who knew there were multiple loft projects in PH?!? Located near Grand River & Michigan – and on the banks of the mighty Black River – developer Larry Jones is working on plans for a mixed use development that would include a sizable renovation and expansion, adding dining/entertainment, parking, and additional floors to accommodate 36 residential units that would include 2 bed/2 bath loft plans… [read more]
