MONROE BLOCK

September 20, 2017

Dan Gilbert released new details on his Monroe Block project, located just east of the Quicken HQ in Downtown Detroit. The $800M development will cover 2-blocks and include a 35-story office tower with 818,000 sqft, including roughly 170,000 sqft of retail space, and 48,000 sqft of public space.

Regarding the residential component – you know, the part we care about – expect around 480 multi-family units.  We’re hearing rumors there will be a mix of rentals and for-sale units, but can’t confirm that yet.

Bounded by Randolph Street, Bates Street, Cadillac Square and Monroe Avenue, construction is expected to begin early in 2018, with completion projected towards early 2022.
